Job Description

What We’re Building Towards

At Omegga, we're on a mission to reinvent how AI and spectroscopy can drive positive change for animals, people and the planet. We started with a clear objective: eliminate chick culling on a global scale through early, non-invasive detection. This outdated practice still impacts billions of lives, and we're here to change that. We're not building for the niche, we're building for the global standard.

Today, our systems are already in use, and the focus is on scaling performance, robustness, and deployment across an international customer base. For us, scaling means more than growth. It means changing an industry for the better.

We are looking for people who take ownership, think in systems, and want to help turn a working product into the industry benchmark. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a hands-on engineer to take full ownership of new robotic subsystems from first idea to production-ready hardware. You combine strong mechanical design skills with practical lab experience and a keen sense for manufacturability. Above all, you're someone who doesn't wait to be told what's next. You see what needs to happen, take initiative, and enjoy working openly in a fast-moving, international team that's growing together.

You take ownership end to end, hold yourself to a high standard, and focus on outcomes that matter for the customer. You communicate openly, give honest feedback, and build trust through your actions. You believe the best work happens in an environment where people support each other, share knowledge, and grow together.

What You’ll Build

  • Own the full development cycle of robotic subsystems, from concept through rapid prototyping, iterative improvement, and deployment
  • Design complex mechanical systems and integrate mechanical and electrical components into functional robotics solutions
  • Build and test prototypes hands-on, including assembly, troubleshooting, and iterative validation
  • Collaborate with the electronics and software team on system integration and performance
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly to enable scalable production
  • Manage outsourcing partners and suppliers to transition prototypes into production-ready systems

What You Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in automation/robotics, with strong track record designing complex electromechanical systems, from prototype to production
  • Hands-on mindset with a passion for building, testing, and troubleshooting real-world systems and solid CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion)
  • Proven experience of optimizing designs in compact electromechanical systems, environmental sealing, and design for manufacturing
  • Experience with manufacturing, supplier collaboration, and design for scalable production
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You naturally identify what needs to happen next, collaborate openly in an international team, and are eager to grow alongside it

Not ticking every box? That's okay. If this role excites you and you bring most of what we've described, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Get

Mission & Technical Challenge: At Omegga, you work on problems that are both technically demanding and globally relevant. We build deep-tech solutions with real-world impact, pushing the boundaries of what's currently possible.

Relocation Support: Moving to Munich? We help you find an apartment in the Werksviertel within walking distance of the office. We connect you with the right contacts and take the stress out of apartment hunting.

Work Environment: Located in Munich's Werksviertel, we combine a focused, high-performance culture with flexibility. Up to 50% remote work, depending on role and execution needs.

Ownership: VSOPs (Virtual Stock Options) so you share in the value you help create.

Time Off: 28 vacation days per year, plus December 24th and 31st off.

Benefits & Growth

  • Monthly meal budget for whatever keeps you going, from quick lunches to proper team dinners
  • Monthly perks budget to spend where it actually matters to you — fitness, mobility, or the occasional "I earned this" purchase
  • Annual learning budget to invest in your growth, from conferences to deep dives into new domains
  • Free drinks, coffee, and snacks in the office to keep you focused throughout the day
