Instrumentation & Test Engineer - Turbofan (On-site)
Location: UAE Abu Dhabi
Department: Turbofan
Reports To: Test & Validation Leader
The Instrumentation and Test Engineer is responsible for the definition, preparation, execution and analysis of turbofan products, systems, modules and component test plan. She/He defines and manages measurement chain for turbofan engine and components testing. He/she ensures an accurate and reliable measurement of all engine parameters with the appropriate redundancy. He/she transforms real phenomena in traceable data, calibrated and certifiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Define test objectives, procedures, and instrumentation; Manage test execution and safety.
- Analyze results and issue test reports, compliance statements
- Oversee the planning and execution of test campaigns (component rigs, module and core engine tests, endurance and certification tests, Altitude Test, environmental and ingestion tests…) including instrumentation plans for data acquisition and selection of sensors
- Define instrumentation plan and select sensors and placement according to test objectives and means.
- Manage calibration and uncertainty analysis.
- Interfaces with Advanced Technology department and test cell engineers and operators, even with Customers and Partners.
- Organize the data acquisition architecture.
- Participate to results analysis and issue test reports to fit with compliance requirements.
- Support engine test cells definition, ground test infrastructure and propose adaptation when needed to fit with product management line expectations.
- Validate data-processing methodologies and approve test reports used for design/performance/certification validation while ensuring traceability and consistency with SEMP, V&V plan and compliance matrix (data acceptability justification, witness test support, …)
- Ensure compliance for test operations: Safety, Risk assessment, readiness reviews

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in engine testing within turbofan propulsion, or other similar complex engineered systems
- Proven experience in instrumentation, test cell facilities for components, modules and engines from planning to analysis: physical measurement, instrumentation, instrument lifecycle management, harsh-environment instrumentation (very high temperature, severe vibration, fire-exposed environment, EMI/EMC constraints), data acquisition and validation, metrology, test procedures, safety test reviews, test results correlation
- Strong knowledge in measurement technology: thermocouple (Type K, N, R, S), RTDs, Pressure, Mass and volumetric flow measurement, strain gauge, accelerometers, tachometers, optical and magnetic sensors
- Full understanding of measurement chain, from sensor to data processing, including noise, drift, saturation, error propagation, …and
