Job Description
About Heisenberg Research
Heisenberg Research is building the future of quantum computing for AI.
Our mission is to exponentially accelerate AI training, inference, and reasoning by integrating fault-tolerant quantum computing into next-generation AI infrastructure. We believe quantum computing is a critical path toward overcoming the compute, energy, and scaling bottlenecks limiting progress toward advanced AI systems.
Our architecture combines multiple qubit modalities within a unified fault-tolerant framework, enabling a new class of heterogeneous quantum systems optimized for large-scale AI workloads. We operate at the intersection of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and advanced hardware design.
We're looking for exceptional engineers and researchers who want to define entirely new computational paradigms and help build the infrastructure for the next era of intelligence.
What You'll Work On
As a Quantum Algorithms Engineer, you will design and develop algorithms that leverage heterogeneous quantum hardware to solve problems beyond the reach of classical systems.
You will work closely with quantum hardware architects, compiler engineers, AI researchers, and systems engineers to create algorithms optimized for our multi-modal quantum computing platform.
This is a highly interdisciplinary role that combines quantum computing, machine learning, optimization, and large-scale systems research.
Key Responsibilities
- Design novel quantum algorithms for AI training, inference, optimization, and reasoning workloads.
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical workflows that integrate GPUs, CPUs, and QPUs.
- Explore quantum advantage opportunities in machine learning, optimization, simulation, and scientific computing.
- Design algorithms for heterogeneous quantum architectures involving multiple qubit modalities.
- Collaborate with compiler and architecture teams to co-design hardware-aware algorithms.
- Benchmark and evaluate algorithm performance using simulation and real quantum hardware.
- Research fault-tolerant implementations of advanced quantum algorithms.
- Publish research findings and contribute to intellectual property generation.
- Work with external partners, universities, and national laboratories on collaborative research initiatives.
