Mid-Level Software Engineer (Python | AWS) – Remote (U.S.)

I’m partnering on a really interesting engineering role supporting a modern, event-driven microservices platform that powers insights for farmers, tractors, and field operations across the U.S.

This team sits at the core of the platform—owning authentication, farm/field operations data, and the services everything else depends on. If this team breaks… everything breaks. So they value precision, rigor, and strong engineering fundamentals.

💰 Pay Rate: $50-60/hr W2 (flexible)

🌎 Fully remote (U.S.-based)

📅 Target start: mid-July (7/13 or later)

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

• Building and supporting Python-based APIs in AWS (Lambdas, API Gateway)
• Working in a microservices + event-driven architecture
• Owning tickets across user stories, bugs, and production issues
• Partnering with customer success + platform teams to troubleshoot and improve systems
• Contributing to authentication/authorization integrations across platforms
• Exposure to geospatial data/tools (nice-to-have, not a dealbreaker)

When reviewing candidates, they’re focused on 3 core things:

Python (API development in AWS) – this is the bread and butter

Authentication experience (Microsoft Entra / Azure AD / B2C)

Geospatial exposure (Mapbox, ESRI, etc. = bonus, not required)

Team + Environment

• Team of 5 engineers (mostly senior/principal level)
• Looking for someone who can work independently but lean on strong mentors
• Highly collaborative, remote-first team (primarily CST schedule, 10am standups)
• Work is ticket-driven, but with real ownership and impact
