Salary: $180K-$250K base + 0.4%-0.8% equity

Location: Brooklyn, NY (4 days in-office)

Despite moving trillions of dollars of goods every year, this industry still runs on phone calls, emails, spreadsheets, manual workflows, and fragmented software. Recent advances in AI have made it possible to automate work that previously required entire operational teams.

With $10M raised from leading investors, early revenue already in the hundreds of thousands, and a team of just four people, the company is building AI-native infrastructure that allows small businesses to operate with the leverage of much larger organizations.

Join as one of the first engineering hires at a seed-stage AI startup reinventing how operational businesses run.

You'll work directly with the founders to build customer-facing AI agents that automate complex workflows across quoting, communications, operations, fraud prevention, and decision-making. This is a true founding engineer role where you'll help define the product, architecture, engineering culture, and technical roadmap from the earliest stages.

The company is already deployed with real customers, processing live business operations every day, and shipping improvements measured in hours rather than quarters.

• AI-first technical challenges. You'll own the AI stack across carrier sales automation, quoting, email triage, and fraud prevention.
• Seed-stage equity upside. Early-stage company with a proven founding team and clear product-market fit signals (already embedded with founding agents).

• Own the AI stack for freight — build agents, carrier sales automation, quoting systems, and email triage/routing using LLMs and agentic workflows
• Set the technical foundation from the ground up — architecture decisions, deployment, tooling, CI/CD, and engineering culture
• Build fraud prevention systems to catch and mitigate load theft across dozens of fraud vectors
• Deeply embed with freight brokers — join their calls, watch them work, and turn that understanding into software that changes how they operate
• Partner with the Head of Product on what to build, what to buy, and how to integrate it — you'll have a real seat at the table on business direction
• Ship fast with tight feedback loops measured in hours, not sprints — take ideas from prototype to production with real users

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally at early-stage startups
• Strong full-stack engineering skills with experience shipping products end-to-end
• Has built real products on top of LLMs, AI agents, or modern AI tooling in production environments

• Previous founding engineer or startup experience
• Experience building agentic workflows or AI-native products
• Exposure to operationally complex industries such as logistics, supply chain, insurance, construction, manufacturing, or financial services
• Experience working closely with non-technical users and translating workflows into software
