We are looking for a CAD + AI Engineering Intern to join us on-site at the EX Venture campus in Canggu, Bali, supporting one of our portfolio companies, Zero-X, focused on waste-to-energy systems. Zero-X is working on advanced industrial systems that convert waste into usable energy. As part of the team, you will support real engineering work around the X-150 gasification reactor, industrial drying systems, CAD modeling, simulation workflows, and AI-supported engineering processes.
This is not a typical office internship. You will work in a spacious, international, entrepreneurial environment with office areas, shared workspaces, a living room, a pool, and a team of sharp people from around the world. You live and work in one of the most dynamic places in Southeast Asia while building real engineering skills on real hardware projects.
Your Role
You will support the engineering team with:

- CAD work for the X-150 gasification reactor and related industrial drying systems
- 3D modeling, assemblies, iParts, and sheet metal design in Autodesk Inventor
- Design improvements for waste-to-energy and reactor-based systems
- Simulation and engineering analysis; ANSYS, FEA, thermal, and CFD experience are a strong plus
- AI-supported workflows to speed up design, documentation, simulation preparation, and repetitive engineering tasks
- Collaboration with international research and engineering partners in Germany, Spain, Australia, and Bali
- Development of your own ideas and technical improvements, not just execution of assigned tasks
You will not only be told what to do. You will be expected to think, question, build, improve, and take ownership.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- A recent mechanical engineering graduate or finishing a master’s thesis
- Strong in Autodesk Inventor
- Familiar with ANSYS, or ready to learn it fast
- Interested in AI tools and how they can make mechanical engineering faster and more powerful
- Detail-oriented, hands-on, and proactive
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving international team
- Ready to relocate to Bali for 4–6 months
- Looking for long-term growth, not just a short internship line on a CV
