SKILLS REQUIRED:

Primary (Must-Have):

✔️12 to 15+ years of enterprise IT experience with deep expertise in Matillion ETL platform administration and development

✔️Advanced cloud administration skills across core AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC architectures, IAM, and EBS storage environments)

✔️Proven experience establishing, securing, and maintaining highly restricted or air-gapped environment topologies

✔️Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) proficiency utilizing Terraform for automated provisioning

✔️Hands-on experience building and governing CI/CD automation templates (GitLab or GitHub) integrated with Git version control

✔️Direct implementation experience connecting and tuning Matillion workloads with Snowflake data warehouses

Secondary (Good to Have):

✔️Strong automation scripting capabilities using Python or Bash for custom health checks and telemetry collection

✔️Practical understanding of enterprise secrets management architectures (such as HashiCorp Vault or platform-native CI/CD secure variables)

✔️Technical familiarity with enterprise-wide monitoring, logging, and APM tools (AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Splunk)

✔️Previous experience navigating strict technical compliance, regulatory boundaries, and encryption models within financial services environments

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly sophisticated Senior Matillion Platform Engineer + AWS Administrator with 15 years of technical expertise to drive the engineering, management, and scaling of our enterprise data integration environment. Working in a fully remote capacity for a premier financial services institution, this critical role centers on managing an air-gapped Matillion ETL cluster integrated natively with Snowflake. The successful candidate will act as the technical owner responsible for automating secure cloud infrastructure setups, implementing zero-trust access controls, and stabilizing deployment pipelines across development, testing, and high-availability production environments.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

✔️Provision, optimize, and maintain multi-node Matillion ETL systems on AWS compute nodes, strictly regulating underlying network VPC topologies, secure egress routes, and storage attachment blocks.

✔️Architect and enforce security hardening policies for air-gapped technical spaces, isolating systems from direct outbound internet loops while sustaining stable continuous processing.

✔️Develop, modularize, and test clean declarative configurations via Terraform to automate reproducible environment spin-ups across multi-tier (Dev, QA, Prod) staging levels.

✔️Engineer end-to-end continuous integration and deployment pipelines inside GitLab/GitHub to automate seamless artifact promotion and source-controlled Matillion configurations.

✔️Implement cryptographic key-based authentication architectures and centralized credential management solutions (HashiCorp Vault) to protect sensitive database links and API pipelines.

✔️Troubleshoot system-level cluster anomalies, trace orphaned sessions, clear technical bottlenecks, and configure proactive operational dashboards inside CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
