Senior JMeter Performance Test Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Performance Test Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Performance Engineering and a strong background in JMeter-based performance testing for enterprise-scale applications. This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting a large banking and financial services environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
• 7+ years of recent hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• Strong expertise in JMeter Test Plan development, Correlation, Parameterization, Assertions, Distributed Load Testing, and Groovy/Beanshell scripting.
• Extensive experience designing and executing Load, Stress, Soak, Spike, Scalability, and Endurance tests.
• Proven ability to define, measure, and analyze key performance metrics including Response Time, Throughput, Latency, Error Rate, Concurrency, and Resource Utilization.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD integration, automated performance testing, dashboards, reporting, and work item management.
• 3+ years of experience using Git/GitHub for source control, branching, merging, pull requests, and repository management.
• Strong experience with Application Insights, Azure Monitor, KQL Queries, and performance telemetry analysis.
• Experience with APM and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, or LogicMonitor.

• 5+ years of experience testing REST APIs, JSON payloads, authentication mechanisms, and API performance using tools such as Postman.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services including App Services, APIM, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Autoscaling, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience preparing and managing test data, validating environments, and resolving technical dependencies.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks across application, middleware, infrastructure, and database layers.
• Experience creating executive-level performance reports with trends, findings, optimization recommendations, and capacity planning insights.
• Strong collaboration skills with Development, QA, DevOps, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Banking, Financial Services, Credit Union, FinTech, or Payment Processing experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing enterprise applications.
