  • Review and validate data inputs to ensure accuracy in design models.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other designers to refine design concepts.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. structural, mechanical, environmental, planners).
  • Participate in design reviews, client workshops, and technical meetings.
  • Coordinate project design models through collaborative Building Information Modelling (BIM) or Common Data Environments (CDE).
  • Support junior designers and drafters through mentorship, checking, and technical guidance.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all design deliverables are technically correct solutions that are fit for purpose and comply with relevant standards including:

o Austroads

o Queensland/State local authority design standards

o Relevant Australian Standards

o Client-specific technical specifications

o Safety in Design (SiD) principles

  • Prepare design reports, design decision logs, and calculations where required.
  • Conduct drawing reviews, design checks, clash detection, and model audits.
  • Maintain version control and compliance with JBU Group’s QA processes.

Project Delivery & Time Management

  • Develop design inputs for project programs and assist with estimating design hours.
  • Manage personal workload and deliverables to meet project commitments across cost, quality, and time.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, or design conflicts and escalate as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and modelling standards.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in:
