Following continued growth, they are looking to hire an Engineering Lead to help shape the next phase of their platform and engineering function.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys building high-quality software while mentoring others and influencing technical direction.
You'll lead a small but highly capable engineering team, working across backend systems, APIs, frontend applications and cloud infrastructure. Working closely with product, data science and leadership teams, you'll help deliver scalable, reliable products while driving engineering excellence across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers
- Remain hands-on with both backend and frontend development
- Design and build scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Develop modern web applications using React and TypeScript
- Drive technical architecture and engineering best practices
- Work closely with product and data teams to deliver AI-powered features into production
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring and deployment processes
- Support hiring and contribute to the growth of the engineering organisation
- Help shape the long-term technical roadmap and engineering culture

What They're Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with previous leadership or mentoring experience
- Excellent commercial experience with Python
- Experience building applications with FastAPI or similar modern Python frameworks
- Strong frontend development experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience building APIs, distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability and performance
- Experience working in startup, scale-up or high-growth technology environments
- Comfortable balancing hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
