A leading digital-first UK insurer is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join a specialist pricing innovation team. The business serves over two million customers and has invested heavily in data infrastructure and modern modelling capabilities.


This team acts as a pricing R&D function, experimenting with new modelling techniques and data sources to challenge and improve traditional pricing approaches.

You will build predictive models using large behavioural datasets and help introduce new modelling approaches into production pricing systems. The role offers strong technical ownership in a small, innovative team working closely with core pricing functions.


Key Responsibilities

• Build predictive models on large and complex datasets

• Develop residual and pricing models to test new signals

• Work on geospatial / footprint modelling problems

• Deploy models using Azure ML and internal infrastructure

• Experiment with new data sources to improve pricing models

• Mentor a graduate data scientist


Key Details

• Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (up to £80,000 for exceptional candidates)

• Bonus: ~20% + £5k car allowance

• Working model: Hybrid (1 day per week in office – London)

• Tech stack: Python, SQL, Azure ML, GraphDB
