About the Role

You'll join as Member of Technical Staff, working closely with the founders to build the infrastructure layer that powers AI-native commerce. You'll own projects end-to-end, contribute to core backend and data systems, and help scale the platform from early traction into foundational infrastructure for AI agents. This role is ideal for highly ambitious engineers who thrive in high-ownership environments and enjoy building products from first principles.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale APIs, backend systems, and data infrastructure
• Design and optimize data ingestion, retrieval, and search systems
• Develop systems that enable AI agents to understand and reason about products
• Own projects from architecture and implementation through deployment
• Partner directly with founders on product and technical decisions
• Contribute to customer conversations and product strategy
• Stay at the frontier of AI tooling and engineering best practices

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of software engineering experience

• Strong backend or infrastructure engineering fundamentals
• Experience building APIs, data pipelines, or scalable backend systems
• High ownership mentality and startup mindset
• Strong problem-solving ability and bias for execution
• Interest in AI, search, retrieval systems, or data infrastructure
• Previous startup, founding engineer, or founder experience is a plus

Compensation & Logistics

• Compensation: $120K–$170K Base + (0.25%–0.75%) Equity
• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Work Model: 5 Days/week
• Visa Sponsorship: Available
