Job Description
About The Role
At ARX Robotics, you will operate the infrastructure that supports next-generation autonomous robotic systems across hybrid and restricted environments. As a (Senior) Infrastructure Engineer – Linux, Network & Physical Systems, you will help build and maintain the operational backbone behind secure, reliable, and recoverable engineering and deployment environments.
While the role is not primarily a cloud engineering role, ARX operates in a hybrid reality across physical infrastructure, restricted environments, public cloud, and SaaS. You should therefore be comfortable working at the boundaries between on-prem systems, cloud platforms, identity, networking, monitoring, and security controls.
This role is designed for someone who genuinely enjoys infrastructure engineering. Whether you run a home lab, self-host services, build networks for fun, or care deeply about reliable Linux systems and clean operational practices, your mindset will fit well here. You will work hands-on across Linux systems, networking, storage, monitoring, backup, and recovery while helping shape scalable infrastructure operations for demanding and security-conscious environments.
What You’ll Build
- Operate and maintain Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, backups, and monitoring infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot physical networking including switches, VLANs, routing, firewalling, cabling, and rack/server infrastructure
- Support VPN, ZTNA, DNS, routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity across operational environments
- Build and maintain hardened infrastructure baselines, patch management processes, backup verification, and recovery procedures
- Contribute to secure and scalable infrastructure operations across restricted and non-restricted environments
- Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational observability for critical systems
- Support controlled infrastructure operations including access management, audit logging, environment separation, and operational evidence collection
- Help maintain clear operational boundaries between public, internal, and restricted infrastructure environments
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure tooling
- Support cloud-connected infrastructure patterns, including identity federation, logging export, monitoring integration, backup paths, and secure connectivity between physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Work with platform and cloud engineers on infrastructure-as-code, landing-zone guardrails, and operational standards where Linux, networking, storage, or hybrid connectivity meet public cloud infrastructure.
- Participate in incident response, recovery testing, operational readiness, and future on-call operations
- Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and long-term infrastructure reliability practices
