Key Responsibilities

Coordinate payroll-related adjustments for employee lifecycle events
Spearhead year-end processing including T4 and T2200 preparation, provincial summaries, and governmental reporting
Support corporate financial audits with necessary schedules and reconciliations
Coach, develop, and mentor a Payroll Coordinator
Serve as subject matter expert for internal inquiries regarding pay and benefits
Manage external escalations with agencies like Service Canada and provincial ministries
Generate regular general ledger reports, accruals, and ad-hoc analytics for HR and Finance stakeholders
Evaluate workflows to optimize current systems such as upcoming ERP or payroll vendor upgrades

Job Description


On behalf of our client we are seeking a Bilingual Manager, Payroll & Benefits to oversee the accurate, compliant, and timely execution of full-cycle payroll and group rewards across Canada. This is a fully remote role.

Key Responsibilities • Payroll & Compliance Management: Oversee the end-to-end execution of bi-weekly multi-provincial payroll. Ensure strict adherence to federal and provincial labor laws, including statutory remittances (CPP, EI, EHT, WCB, etc.) and timely ROE submissions. • Benefits & Savings Oversight: Manage the administration, reconciliation, and funding of group benefit programs and retirement savings plans (RRSPs). • Lifecycle Processing: Coordinate all payroll-related adjustments for employee lifecycle events (onboarding, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding) in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory frameworks. • Year-End & Audits: Spearhead year-end processing, including T4 and T2200 preparation, provincial summaries, and governmental reporting. Support corporate financial audits with necessary schedules and reconciliations. • Leadership & Advisory: Coach, develop, and mentor a Payroll Coordinator. Serve as the subject matter expert for internal inquiries regarding pay and benefits, while managing external escalations with agencies like Service Canada and provincial ministries. • Analysis & Optimization: Generate regular general ledger (GL) reports, accruals, and ad-hoc analytics for HR and Finance stakeholders. Actively evaluate workflows to optimize current systems (such as upcoming ERP or payroll vendor upgrades).

Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline. • Certifications: PCP or PLP designation • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive full-cycle payroll experience within a national corporate environment. • Leadership: 2+ years of direct people management or supervisory experience. • Systems Expertise: At least 2 years of hands-on experience utilizing ADP Workforce Now (or a comparable enterprise system), alongside advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas). . • Language: Professional fluency in both English and French (Bilingual) is required. • Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, discretion with sensitive data, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to hit strict deadlines.
