Director of Applied AI/ML Science - Healthcare

For our client, we are seeking a Director Ai/ml Applied Science - Remote to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $134,600 – $230,800 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning models for predicting health outcomes and improving care
• Create engineering platforms and reusable code for AI/ML development
• Stay updated on latest technologies to enhance business objectives
• Mentor team members in AI/ML project delivery
• Work with cross-functional teams to address business challenges with AI
• Ensure compliance with policies through collaboration with the Responsible Use of AI team
• Document algorithms and infrastructure, including patents and publications

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or related field with 10+ years experience OR a PhD in a relevant field with 5+ years experience
• 3+ years delivering AI/ML/NLP solutions
• 5+ years leading AI/ML projects from ideation to production
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML and/or NLP solutions
• Proficient in Python and frameworks like MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Experience with cloud platforms for data pipelines and ML models
• Familiarity with Gen AI pipelines and Large Language Models
