Job Description
About Olive Tree Consulting
Olive Tree Consulting works with leadership teams when management work has become harder than it should be. The issue is usually not a single bad meeting or one missing document. Instead, the friction often lies in how decisions, priorities, and responsibilities move through the group. We help make that movement clearer by looking at the practical habits a team already uses. Our goal is a quieter management pattern that helps teams hold their work more easily.
As a focused advisory practice, we prefer useful notes over polished presentations and clear ownership over vague alignment. We favor small, practical changes over large transformation programmes that no one has the time to maintain. Our team is fully remote and stays small so we can remain close to the specific problems our clients face. We look for clarity, plain conversation, and the kind of written records that help people remember what was decided without needing to ask. The result of our work is not a bigger management system, but a simpler one that stays in place after we leave.
About the role
We are looking for a Web Developer Intern to join our team in a full time, permanent capacity. The role exists because we believe our digital presence and internal tools should reflect the same principles of clarity and simplicity that we bring to our clients. You will spend your time building and maintaining the software that supports our consulting work. This might mean refining our website, creating internal dashboards to track project progress, or testing new ways for our remote team to share information without adding noise to our day.
What you will do
- Writing clean, functional HTML and CSS to maintain our public website and internal portals.
- Building and updating small JavaScript tools that help our team manage project notes and records.
- Collaborating with our consultants to turn their practical needs into simple digital solutions.
- Testing new features across different devices to ensure everything works exactly as it should.
- Cleaning up existing codebases to remove unnecessary features or visual clutter.
- Documenting how our web components work so that the rest of the team can understand them.
- Reviewing site performance and accessibility to keep things fast and easy for everyone to use.

We do not have many meetings. Most of our coordination happens through clear, written records. We believe that a well written note is more valuable than a long call because it provides a permanent record that everyone can refer back to later. Our schedule is designed to allow for long periods of focus where you can get into the rhythm of your work without interruption. We value ownership and expect everyone on the team to manage their own time effectively. We do not look for people to be busy, we look for people to be useful.
Who tends to do well here
People who enjoy a calm and predictable working environment tend to do very well with us. If you are someone who likes to have a clear task, understands the goal, and works steadily toward it, you will find our rhythm refreshing. We look for colleagues who take a practical approach to problems. This means choosing the simplest technical solution that solves the problem rather than the most complex one. You should be comfortable working on your own while staying deeply connected to the team through your writing and your work output.
What success looks like
Success in this role is measured by how much friction you can remove from our daily work. You will know you are doing well when the tools you build or maintain fade into the background because they work so reliably. We want our software to be invisible assistants that help our team and our clients stay organized. Over time, you will become a central part of how we present our ideas to the world, ensuring that our digital presence is as crisp and clean as the advice we give. You will be helping us build a more practical way for teams to lead.
What you get
- A fully remote position with a flexible daily schedule.
- A quiet, professional environment that values your focus and your time.
- The chance to work on projects with clear, visible impacts on our operations.
- Direct experience in a specialized advisory firm with a very practical philosophy.
- Mentorship through detailed written feedback and collaborative project work.
