We are hiring a Junior JavaScript Developer to help us solve this by building lean, functional tools that translate complex economic models into clear, interactive interfaces. This role exists to bridge the gap between our analytical findings and the practical tools our clients use to manage their risks.

The Role
Working as a Junior JavaScript Developer at Blue Oak Consulting means writing code that helps people see the truth of their business operations. You will support our consultants by turning their financial and operational models into browser based applications. Your day to day work involves:

• Developing and maintaining frontend interfaces for internal data analysis tools.
• Writing clean, modular JavaScript to handle calculations and data manipulation on the client side.
• Building interactive data visualizations that allow users to stress test different business scenarios.
• Translating logic from financial models into functional code that remains performant even with large datasets.
• Collaborating with our consulting team to ensure the technical output accurately reflects the economic variables we are measuring.
• Fixing bugs and improving the usability of existing internal tools to ensure they are reliable during high stakes meetings.

What We Need From You
This is an entry level role. We are looking for someone who values logic and accuracy over visual flair. We need someone who is comfortable admitting what they do not know and who is willing to learn our specific approach to business logic. You should bring the following:

• A solid foundation in JavaScript (ES6+), including a good understanding of how to manipulate data structures like arrays and objects.
• Foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS, focusing on building clean and functional layouts.
• Exposure to at least one modern framework like React, Vue, or Svelte, though we value strong vanilla JavaScript skills most.
• A logical approach to problem solving and the ability to follow a complex set of instructions or commercial rules.
• Clear, direct communication skills. You need to be able to explain why a certain technical approach works or why a piece of logic might be failing.
• An interest in how businesses actually work and a healthy skepticism toward complicated explanations.
