Senior Backend Engineer - Financial Infrastructure

Our client is a fast-growing global fintech company building modern brokerage and trading infrastructure used by financial institutions and investment platforms worldwide. Their Japan engineering team is focused on developing next-generation securities backend systems to replace legacy infrastructure in the Japanese market, supporting products such as NISA, API trading, and global equities.

In this role, you will design and build scalable backend systems while collaborating closely with global engineering, product, finance, and operations teams. This is a highly autonomous position suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges in a modern cloud-native environment.


Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable backend systems and services
• Lead projects from architecture through deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams
• Build reliable, maintainable, and high-performance systems
• Contribute to modernizing financial infrastructure in Japan

Requirements:

• Business-level Japanese and conversational English
• Strong backend development experience with Go and/or Java
• Experience with system design and scalable architectures
• Hands-on experience with GCP, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and protobuf
• Ideally experience in working in the financial industry
