Cloud Engineer (Azure, DevOps, CI/CD)

For an international organization in Europe, we are urgently looking for a Full REMOTE DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design, establish, maintain, and continuously improve the cloud hosting, DevOps, CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational reliability practices for internally developed digital applications and related digital tools.

EU candidates are welcome to apply and be based in Europe. Work permit is not provided. This position is long-term. Candidates need to be fluent in English. Candidates need to be willing to go on-site for local meetings.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Understand, assess, and document the current Azure cloud setup, deployment pipelines, application environments, dependencies, and operational processes;
• Design, configure, maintain and improve Azure-hosted environments for the supported internally developed applications and platforms;
• Establish and maintain GitHub Actions and related CI/CD workflows for build, deployment, validation, and rollback processes;
• Standardize deployment processes across current and future country or operation environments;
• Define and maintain environment configuration standards, including application settings, deployment variables, secrets references, certificates, custom domains, DNS, and operational configuration;

• Support the setup of new country or operation environments, including deployment readiness, configuration validation, and go-live preparation;
• Improve deployment automation, rollback readiness, monitoring, alerting, and overall operational reliability;
• Troubleshoot Azure App Services, containers, storage accounts, networking, access, configuration, and runtime issues;
• Support SSL/TLS certificate management, DNS configuration, custom domains, and related application access requirements;

Profile:

• Bachelor or Master degree;
• +5 years of proven experience as a Cloud Engineer;
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure App Services and cloud-hosted application environments;
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD pipeline tools;

• Experience designing, maintaining, and improving deployment pipelines, release processes, rollback procedures, and environment configuration;
• Sound understanding of application configuration, environment variables, secrets management concepts, certificates, DNS, custom domains, and operational settings;
• Experience with deployment standardization, automation, monitoring, and operational reliability practices;
• Basic understanding of containers and Docker-based application deployment;
• Ability to read and analyze application logs, deployment logs, cloud monitoring outputs, and runtime errors;
• Understanding of networking basics, including firewall rules, routing, connectivity, private endpoints, DNS, and access troubleshooting;
• Basic understanding of Node.js and Express application runtime behaviour is considered an asset for deployment and troubleshooting purposes;
• Ability to troubleshoot production and non-production incidents in a structured and disciplined manner;
• Familiarity with Azure Application Gateway, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Key Vault, Managed Identity, Storage Accounts, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics is considered an asset;
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, infrastructure-as-code concepts, REST APIs, SQL Server connectivity troubleshooting, and incident management or knowledge base tools is considered an asset;
• Fluent in English;
