Data Centre Electrical QA/QC engineer
$110,000 per annum + relocation package + Bonus + Healthcare (For family included)

We are working with one of the most exciting contractors in the data centre space who are looking to increase their team across Texas for a number of their DC active projects.
The role includes 30% travel and has some really good progression opportunities!
Position Overview
The role ensures that all systems, materials, installations, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client standards, industry regulations, and operational requirements.
This position works closely with project management, commissioning teams, subcontractors, design consultants, and client representatives to deliver high-quality, fully compliant data centre infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain project QA/QC plans and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with client quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead quality audits, inspections, and compliance reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Maintain all quality documentation, records, reports, and turnover packages.
Construction Quality Control
- Perform site inspections for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ICT systems.
- Verify installations against approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate witness testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT) where required.
- Support equipment inspections and material receiving processes.
- Ensure punch list items are tracked and closed in accordance with project schedules.
- Conduct field quality assessments and identify areas for improvement.

Commissioning & Turnover Support
- Coordinate with commissioning teams during pre-functional and functional testing.
- Review testing procedures and commissioning documentation.
- Assist in integrated systems testing and operational readiness activities.
- Support final handover documentation and client closeout requirements.
- Ensure all QA/QC deliverables are completed prior to substantial completion.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture on site.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and project safety protocols.
- Participate in site safety walks and risk assessments.
- Maintain awareness of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Experience
- 5–10+ years of QA/QC experience in mission critical or large-scale commercial construction.
- Previous data centre construction experience is essential.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes and turnover documentation.
- Experience managing subcontractor quality programs.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear)
- Mechanical systems (HVAC, CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water systems)
- Fire protection systems
- Structured cabling and ICT infrastructure
- Building management systems (BMS)
- Familiarity with:
- ANSI/TIA standards
- NFPA codes
- OSHA regulations
- ASHRAE standards
- ISO 9001 quality management systems
