Job Description

Backend Developer — Marketplace Integrations skinscanner.gg • Contract (1 month, extendable) • Remote • Start: 1 June

About skinscanner.gg skinscanner.gg helps users find, compare, and track skins across the major in-game item marketplaces. We're building tools that make pricing, availability, and trading data clearer and faster to act on. As we scale coverage, we need a backend developer who can plug new marketplaces into our platform reliably and quickly.

The role We're hiring a backend developer on an initial 1-month contract to build marketplace integrations for skinscanner.gg, starting 1 June. You'll be working directly with our existing infrastructure alongside our team — not greenfielding — and shipping against tight deadlines set by our senior team. This is a high-pace role: we expect fast turnaround and dependable delivery. Strong performance during the initial month can lead to an extension or longer-term engagement.

What you'll do

  • Build new marketplace integrations on top of our existing backend infrastructure.
  • Work with official APIs where available, and build robust scraping or reverse-engineered solutions where not.
  • Handle rate limiting, retries, proxies, and authentication flows so integrations stay reliable at scale.
  • Normalise data across marketplaces into our existing internal schema.
  • Deploy and run services on GCP using the patterns our team already has in place.
  • Hit tight deadlines set by our senior team and keep a fast, consistent shipping pace.
  • Write clean, testable, well-documented code that fits the conventions of the existing codebase.

What we're looking for

  • Strong production experience with Python and Go.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying services on Google Cloud Platform.
  • A proven track record of shipping fast and hitting tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable jumping into an existing codebase and matching its conventions rather than rebuilding from scratch.
  • Comfortable working with REST APIs, JSON, async jobs, and queues.
  • Experience handling anti-bot measures, captchas, proxies, and headless browsers when needed.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
  • Bonus: prior experience building scrapers or marketplace integrations, or familiarity with the gaming skin ecosystem.

Contract details

  • Length: 1-month contract to start, with extension based on fit and delivery.
  • Hours: 140 hours over the month.
  • Remuneration: IDR 10,000,000 – 13,000,000 per month, depending on experience.
  • Location: fully remote.
  • Start date: 1 June.
  • Pace: fast — tight deadlines set by our senior team.

How to apply We're looking to fill this role by 1 June, so please apply early. Send a short intro and links to relevant work (GitHub, past integrations, scraping projects) via the apply function.

Small edits made: fixed "fromatining" → grammar tightened throughout, removed the duplicate "Comfort" opener in two consecutive bullets (now "Comfortable"/"Comfortable"), changed "Good" to "Strong" for written communication, added "A" before "proven track record," and dropped the redundant "Ideally," from the final paragraph since the sentence already softens the ask.
