About The Role

In this full-time, remote position, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing engaging, high-quality user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience across all devices and platforms. Your primary focus will be on developing elegant editorial templates, optimizing web performance for SEO, and managing third-party systems related to advertising and marketing products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, back-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to translate broad feature objectives into technical solutions that are both functional and visually appealing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing platform, stay at the forefront of digital media trends, and help shape the future of online recruitment technology.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing React and JavaScript in front-end development projects.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development, preferably within the media or digital publishing industry.
  • Proficiency in creating and optimizing mobile web applications, ensuring responsiveness and performance.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience in optimizing websites for search engines.
  • Experience in improving website performance metrics, including Core Web Vitals.
  • Familiarity with analytical and diagnostic tools such as Google Analytics, GTM, and other performance monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with accessibility standards such as ADA and WCAG compliance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern CSS, including SCSS with nesting and component-based approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with art directors, digital directors, senior developers, and back-end teams to launch new features and enhance existing products.
  • Implement design guidelines that ensure ADA and WCAG compliance, delivering consistent and accessible user experiences across platforms.
  • Translate broad feature requests from editorial and business teams into well-defined, production-ready technical solutions for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Partner with leadership, including the Interim Publisher, CFO, and legal teams, to implement privacy controls and consent mechanisms tailored to jurisdictional requirements.
  • Define product goals, map user flows, and prototype interactions to facilitate smooth development processes.
  • Develop high-quality prototypes that demonstrate functionality and design intent.
  • Work alongside lead developers to ensure architecture, implementation, and code quality meet the highest standards.
  • Produce clean, performant, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in digital media to inform future projects aimed at audience growth.
  • Maintain and optimize analytics and tagging integrations, including GTM and GA4, to track user engagement and performance metrics.
  • Participate in daily code reviews, debugging, and documentation of technical builds and fixes.
