Social Media Specialist
3+ months, approx 20 hrs/week during business hrs
Fully Remote
Starts: early June
Rate: $30-35/hr.

Our education client is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join their team on a part time basis over the next few months throughout business hours. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and brand aligned social media content across multiple platforms. It requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams to maintain a consistent and responsive online presence. 

Key Responsibilities:

Content Calendar Management (35%)
- Master content calendar ownership including planning and updates in Notion and Sprout Social.
- Translate campaign briefs and internal requests into scheduled posts.
- Ensure balanced distribution of content across platforms.
- Identify scheduling risks such as conflicts or gaps and escalate as needed.
- Maintain visibility of upcoming content for internal stakeholders.

Publishing and Scheduling (25%)
- Schedule and publish content across Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok using Sprout Social.
- Conduct quality assurance on all posts including copy, links, tagging, and accessibility.
- Ensure brand and accessibility compliance for all published content.
- Manage publishing timelines to consistently meet deadlines.

Content Coordination (20%)
- Coordinate with videographers and designers to secure approved assets.
- Brief graphic designers on incoming social content requests.
- Collaborate with copywriters to ensure approved copy accompanies posts

Community Management Support (20%)
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages during assigned coverage periods.
- Respond to routine inquiries using established guidelines and brand voice.
- Escalate sensitive issues to the appropriate manager.
- Assist during highvolume periods such as campaigns, events, or crisis communications.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in social media coordination, digital content, or marketing.
- Proficiency with social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Notion, and Microsoft 365.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and editorial judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced setting.
