Art Director - Game Outsourcing Studio

Location: Onsite in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is required (Relocation package provided)

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing game outsourcing studio delivering high-quality art and development services to clients across Vietnam and global markets.

Their teams collaborate with international partners to create engaging game experiences across multiple genres, including mobile and iGaming (casino and slot games).

As we scale, we are looking for an Art Director to lead our creative vision and elevate the artistic quality of our projects for global clients.

Role Overview

As the Art Director, you will own and drive the visual direction across multiple game projects, ensuring artistic excellence and consistency from concept to final delivery.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and international clients, balancing creative vision, production efficiency, and business needs.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in game outsourcing and iGaming/slot production, who thrives in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities 

Artistic Direction

• Define and lead the visual style across multiple game projects
• Ensure consistency and high quality across all assets (characters, environments, UI, animation, VFX)
• Establish clear art guidelines, references, and production standards

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary art team (2D, 3D, UI, animation)
• Provide hands-on feedback and elevate team capabilities
• Support hiring and scaling of the art team

Production Oversight

• Partner with Producers/PMs to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
• Balance artistic quality with production efficiency
• Identify risks in the art pipeline and proactively solve them

Client Collaboration

• Work directly with international clients to understand creative vision
• Present concepts and ensure alignment throughout production
• Adapt art styles across different genres and client requirements

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Game Designers, Developers, and Product teams
• Ensure seamless integration of art into gameplay and user experience

Requirements 

Experience

• 7 - 10+ years in game art production
• 3+ years in a leadership role (Lead Artist / Art Director)
• Strong background in game outsourcing or game development studios
• Proven experience in iGaming / casino / slot games (highly preferred)

Skills

• Strong artistic fundamentals (composition, color, lighting, visual storytelling)
• Deep understanding of game art pipelines and workflows
• Ability to lead multiple projects and diverse art styles

• Strong communication skills with global stakeholders

Technical

• Proficiency with industry tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine, After Effects, Unity, etc.)
• Understanding of UI/UX and player-centric design

Nice to Have

• Experience working with global clients or distributed teams
• Strong knowledge of slot game art styles
• Experience managing large teams or multiple concurrent projects
