About MC3 Technologies

MC3 Technologies is a digital transformation and cybersecurity firm based in Hawaii. Our team supports complex infrastructure and technology projects for commercial and government clients across the Pacific region.

Our work often sits at the intersection of construction, engineering, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity, requiring strong collaboration between diverse teams and stakeholders.

At MC3, we value integrity, accountability, strong relationships, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients and partners.

The Opportunity

  • MC3 Technologies is seeking a Technical Lead / Architect to serve as the senior technical authority across the project portfolio. This person will own the quality and delivery of technical work across federal and commercial cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure engagements. This is not a management-only role. You will architect solutions, review technical deliverables, write code when the situation calls for it, and work side by side with engineers on active projects. You will also represent MC3's technical capabilities to prime contractors and clients when the work calls for it. The Technical Lead works directly with company leadership to shape priorities, grow the team, and make sure every project reflects MC3's standards.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Oversight: own technical delivery across all active projects including cybersecurity, compliance advisory, and infrastructure engagements
  • Make architecture and design decisions for client deliverables, internal tools, and automation
  • Hold the line on quality for risk management documentation, system security plans, control assessments, and compliance deliverables
  • Team Development: mentor and develop a growing team of cyber engineers at different experience levels
  • Set technical standards, review processes, and quality expectations
  • Identify skill gaps and help build training paths that get people ready for more complex work
  • Business Development Support: provide technical input to proposals, pricing, and go/no-go decisions on new opportunities
  • Represent MC3's technical capabilities to prospective clients and partners
  • Coordinate with leadership on staffing, capacity, and delivery timelines
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: work across IT and OT environments including building control systems (HVAC, fire alarm, access control, utility monitoring)
  • Coordinate with construction teams, engineering specialists, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
  • Bridge the gap between cybersecurity requirements and the physical infrastructure they protect

Qualifications

  • Required: 8+ years in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or systems engineering with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and the Risk Management Framework process
  • Experience supporting organizations through federal cybersecurity compliance assessments
  • Hands-on technical skills in at least two of: network architecture, systems administration, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), scripting/automation, DevSecOps
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Self-directed and comfortable leading in a small, fully remote team
  • Preferred Backgrounds: federal cybersecurity and compliance, IT/OT infrastructure and systems engineering, ICS/SCADA/OT cybersecurity, DoD cybersecurity for construction or infrastructure projects, military or defense-related technical environments, cloud architecture and DevSecOps
  • Senior certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or similar) and an active DoD security clearance are a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with Hawaii and Pacific region defense and business communities is valuable
