Job Description
We're looking for a game developer intern to help build a browser-based 2D Action RPG. You'll work across rendering, gameplay systems, and the web shell that ships the game to players. This is an unpaid, 12 week internship, with a primary focus on career development and learning. Preference is to candidates that are currently enrolled in a college or university, or have recently graduated.
What You'll Do
- Implement gameplay features - combat, loot, inventory, areas - in TypeScript
- Build game UI in React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS
- Integrate against a Pixi.js v8 / WebGPU rendering library to draw the game world
- Contribute to a Babylon.js WebGPU passive skill tree
- Work with Firebase Auth for player accounts and Cloudflare Workers + D1 for backend data
- Write Playwright end-to-end tests for new features
- Collaborate with full-time engineers via pull requests and async design discussions

What We're Looking For
- Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript
- Comfortable with React (or a similar component framework)
- Comfortable with Git and pull-request workflows
- Passion for action RPGs, classic 2D games, or game-systems design
- Self-motivated and able to make steady progress in a fully remote setting
