Job Description
About us
We're building an AI-native law firm, currently in stealth. We've just closed our pre-seed round.
We're not adding AI on top of a legacy law firm. We're designing the firm from the ground up so AI is the substrate it runs on - drafting, reviewing, redlining, marking up, all wired through agents instead of humans copy-pasting between tools.
The thesis is simple: a lawyer at our firm should ship the first draft and the first mark on a counterparty document in the time a traditional associate spends opening the file.
The role
You'll be our first Legal Engineer.
You're a corporate, commercial or M&A lawyer who already uses AI tools daily and refuses to go back. You want to be the person who turns legal work into agents, not the person whose work gets automated around them.
We'll train you on the legal-engineering side - the patterns, the tooling, the way we encode firm knowledge into reusable skills the platform runs on. You bring the practice: senior-associate-grade drafting, real-deal experience, a clean redlining reflex. We teach you how to encode it.

What you'll do
- Produce the first drafts on inbound corporate, commercial and M&A documents (SHAs, SPAs, NDAs, term sheets, distribution agreements, T&Cs, employment, IP) for partner sign-off
- Run the first mark on counterparty drafts - redline against firm standards, challenge the boilerplate, flag risk, hand it to the partner ready to go
- Co-build the firm's library of legal skills with engineering: encoded playbooks, drafting modules, review checklists - the substrate the rest of the team works on top of
- Own the loop from intake to final mark; every output flows back through partner review with your annotations
- Turn every deal into a reusable piece of the platform - the next matter should start better than the last one did
Who you are
- Qualified to practise in Belgium and/or France - ideally both
- 4+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial or M&A practice
- Already a heavy AI user (Claude, MCPs, agents) - not "curious about AI"
- Strong drafting reflex; you actually enjoy clean, structured legal writing
- Bias to action; comfortable in founding-team energy, not a 9-to-5

- Working proficiency in English; French a strong plus, Dutch a plus
Logistics
- Office: Brussels or Paris, your call based on where you currently live
- Relocation: support available if you're elsewhere in the EU/EEA
- Hybrid considered, in-person strongly preferred at this stage
- Full-time
Compensation
Competitive cash benchmarked to the corporate / commercial / M&A practice at your seniority, parafiscally optimised for the local jurisdiction. ESOP / warrant participation - founding hires are among the first beneficiaries. Full envelope shared upon application.
