Senior Akamai CDN & Security Engineer
Permanent Role | Melbourne, VIC (Fully remote with occasional site visits)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Akamai CDN & Security Engineer to join our growing technology and cyber security team in Melbourne. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced specialist who can operate across complex enterprise and high-traffic environments, delivering advanced CDN, DDoS, and edge security solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on experience with Akamai platforms and be capable of supporting highly sophisticated customer and infrastructure requirements across CDN delivery, Layer 3 protection, and advanced security products.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced management, configuration, optimisation, and troubleshooting of:
- Akamai ION
- APIX
- CDN property configurations and build modifications
- Administration and support of:
- Bot Manager
- WAF / WAAP solutions
- Account Protector
- Content Protector
- Management and tuning of:
- Prolexic DDoS protection solutions
- Edge Network Firewall configurations
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable edge delivery architectures
- Support enterprise-grade Layer 3 and Layer 7 protection strategies
- Work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver resilient internet-facing platforms
- Provide technical leadership and best-practice guidance across Akamai technologies
