Job Title: Senior Software Engineer / AI-Assisted Developer

Location: Houston, TX / Jersey City, NJ (100% Remote working)

Contract: 6 months (potential extension/FTE conversion)

Job Summary

We are seeking a forward-thinking Software Engineer to join our team, specializing in AI-accelerated development. The ideal candidate not only has deep technical knowledge in ReactJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, etc., but is also an expert in using GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity, code quality, and testing. You will lead the adoption of AI coding tools, mentor team members on best practices and prompt engineering, and verify AI-generated code.

Responsibilities:

• AI-Driven Development: Leverage GitHub Copilot and other AI tools to accelerate the development lifecycle, from prototyping to production code, improving speed by 50%+.

• Code Quality & Security: Review, validate, and secure code generated by AI, ensuring it meets performance, security, and scalability standards.

• Mentorship: Mentor the engineering team on effective AI prompting strategies, best practices, and Copilot usage.

• Workflow Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate boilerplate code, unit tests, and documentation using AI.

• System Architecture: Focus on higher-level architectural design and complex problem-solving while AI handles tactical coding tasks.

• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-assisted coding into CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 1+ years using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants.

• Technical Skills: Prioritize React Native experience but also include proficiency in ReactJS, NodeJS, NextJS, JavaScript, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

• AI Proficiency: Deep understanding of how to prompt, debug, and context-manage AI coding assistants.

• Quality Focused: Proven experience with unit testing, code reviews, and maintaining security in automated workflows.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with web, API, and mobile development

• Experience with advanced IDE features (JetBrains, VS Code).

• Understanding of large language models (such as Claude Opus, GPT 5) and their limitations.
