Client: International Agency
Location: Remote from Europe. There might be some onsite trips requested for punctual meetings, depending on need of the project. (Geneva or Budapest)
Duration: Initial duration: 6 months. Extendable based on performance. (long term engagement is foreseen).
Rate: 6-10 year of experience: Max - 345 CHF
Over 10 years of experience: Max 410 CHF
For an International Organization based in Geneva & Budapest, DropaCode is currently looking for a Network Engineer Consultant to join the team on remote to design, plan, and support the execution of the required network engineering activities.
You will be responsible for:
· Review existing network architecture in affected offices, including core, access, firewall, and wireless components.
· Validate identified risks related to EOL/EOS equipment and operational dependencies.
· Design a target-state network architecture aligned with standards and Cisco Meraki best practices.
· Define migration and transition architectures minimizing service disruption.
· Provide technical leadership for the replacement of Budapest core switches and firewalls
· Support configuration, deployment, and cutover activities for Meraki-based infrastructure.

· Assist with phased renewal planning for Geneva access switching and wireless infrastructure.
· Ensure proper VLAN, routing, firewall, and Wi-Fi design and configuration.

For this role you will need to have experience in:
· University degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, computer sciences, business or similar discipline.

· At least 5+ years of proven experience as a Network Engineer or Network Architect in enterprise environments.
· Strong expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including:
· Layer 2/3 switching
· Routing, VLANs, and DHCP
· Firewalling and site-to-site VPNs
· Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, MR) in production environments.
· Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
· Experience with network lifecycle management (EOL/EOS planning).
· Experience in hybrid or globally distributed organizations.
· Exposure to NGO / humanitarian or nonprofit environments as a plus.
· Experience transitioning from managed network services to in-house or cloud-managed solutions.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Excellent documentation and communication skills
· Ability to translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders
· Fluently spoken and written English.
