Job Description


Insight Global is seeking a Machine Learning Research Intern to support a cutting-edge automotive technology client. This individual will focus on developing AI-driven world models for connected and automated driving applications. The ideal candidate has a strong research background in machine learning and is passionate about advancing AI in simulation and real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate AI-based world models for connected and autonomous driving systems
  • Research and implement generative and latent-space modeling approaches (e.g., diffusion models, VAEs)
  • Conduct experiments using simulation platforms and/or real-world driving datasets
  • Analyze results and present findings through technical documentation and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional research and engineering teams


Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML
  • Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning concepts
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., CARLA or similar platforms)
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written and verbal formats


Additional Details:

This is a summer internship opportunity

Pay rate:

  • PhD candidates: $57.20/hour
  • Master’s candidates: $45.10/hour
  • $2,000 one-time relocation stipend available for candidates relocating more than 50 miles
