Job Description
We are seeking a very curious, self-starting early-career engineer to join our team. This position bridges our Engineer I and Engineer II levels, offering a path from foundational support to independent technical contribution. You will focus on building and applying technical competency in CVS (Closed Vent System) analysis, process modeling (Promax), and field data gathering. Engineers at The Valor Method are given meaningful responsibility early in their careers and are exposed to both technical and field-facing work from day one.
Our work spans environmental compliance campaigns (including large-scale facility walk-downs), brownfield expansions, and greenfield projects for production, midstream, and downstream facilities in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Execution: Execute or support emission compliance engineering including dynamic and non-dynamic CVS analyses and perform basic process modeling and equipment sizing using existing templates.
Design & Documentation: Support the development and redlining of core engineering deliverables, including P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), PFDs, and Plot Plans.
Field Engagement: Participate in and lead field walkdowns and data gathering for greenfield and brownfield projects. Expect to travel to the field approximately one trip every 4 to 8 weeks.
Safety Leadership: Uphold a "safety-first" culture with zero tolerance for violations, including mandatory 4-gas monitor calibration compliance.
Mentorship & Training: Participate in internal/external technical training and, at the Level II stage, begin supporting and mentoring entry-level staff.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 0 to 5 years of experience. We value candidates with beginner-level knowledge of field operations and construction support. Oil & gas, energy, or industrial internship/field exposure preferred.
Travel: Willingness to travel domestically for field work (approximately 25% of the time will be spent in the field)
Certification: EIT (Engineer in Training) status is considered a significant benefit and is highly encouraged as you progress toward your Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Communication: You must be an excellent communicator with all stakeholders
Self-motivated: You are someone who takes ownership of assigned scopes rather than just completing tasks. Strong organizational skills are also a must.

Preferred Attributes
- Industry experience in energy, environmental compliance, or oil and gas infrastructure
