Job Description

We are looking for an SEO Lead to own the organic search practice across a multi-client portfolio at Finch. This role exists to fill a critical gap in strategic SEO leadership, bringing conviction, structure, and hands-on expertise to a practice that needs someone who can step in, define direction, and drive results without waiting to be told what to do.

This is not a specialist role with a lead title. The SEO Lead owns strategy end-to-end across technical, content, and authority pillars — while also serving as the first escalation point for performance risks, execution blockers, and client expectation misalignment. In parallel, this person will work alongside leadership to evolve the SEO service offering itself, setting quality standards and delivery frameworks that support consistency and scale.

The ideal candidate comes from an agency environment, has operated at a senior or lead level, and is comfortable being the internal and external voice of authority on SEO.

Responsibilities

  • Own SEO strategy across technical, content, and authority initiatives, ensuring effort is focused on highest-impact work aligned with client business outcomes.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for performance risks, execution blockers, or expectation misalignment across the client portfolio.
  • Partner with leadership to define and evolve the SEO service offering, setting quality standards, frameworks, and delivery systems that support consistency and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand SEO accounts, improve efficiency, and support retention through proactive performance management and cross-channel thinking.
  • Stay close to the work by directly executing on priority accounts while enabling the SEO Specialist through standards, feedback, and technical guidance.

Why Join Finch

  • Work globally, stay flexible: Join a fully distributed team across the US, LATAM, Europe, and Asia.
  • Meaningful impact from day one: Step into a lead role with real ownership over how the SEO practice is built and scaled.
  • A culture built on curiosity, transparency, and ownership: We share context and empower people to make decisions.
  • High-caliber teammates: Collaborate with specialists across Paid Media, DSP, Creative, Analytics, and Client Success.
  • Learning as a default: We're building something new — experimentation and growth are part of the job.

Requirements

We're looking for:

  • 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead, senior, or strategic capacity. (Required)
  • Proven track record managing multiple client accounts in an agency environment. (Required)
  • Experience owning SEO strategy end-to-end — not just executing tasks handed down.
  • Strong command of technical SEO: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals.
  • Solid understanding of content strategy and authority/link building frameworks.
  • Proficiency with core SEO tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalents.
  • Ability to prioritize and build SEO roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with GA4 and GSC for performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of how technical, content, and authority pillars interact.
  • Clear communicator — able to translate SEO complexity into actionable recommendations.
  • Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency (Required)
