Cloud Security Engineer (GCP) - 100% remote (CST) & FTE/Direct-hire
Optomi, in partnership with a rapidly growing SaaS organization, is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to help scale and secure a large Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on cloud security operations, remediation, automation, and proactive security partnership across product engineering teams.
The ideal candidate has deep experience securing GCP environments, remediating cloud security findings directly, and building scalable automation and detection workflows.
Responsibilities
- Review, prioritize, and remediate Security Command Center (SCC) findings
- Monitor and investigate cloud security events within Chronicle/SecOps
- Manage IAM permissions, service accounts, and cloud access controls
- Partner directly with engineering and DevOps teams to implement secure cloud patterns
- Build automation and operational security playbooks
- Tune cloud detections and reduce alert fatigue
- Participate in incident response and PagerDuty rotation
- Write and maintain Terraform and infrastructure-as-code security controls
- Help mature cloud security operations across a rapidly growing product environment

Required Experience
- Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
- Experience with SCC, IAM, and cloud security remediation
- Ability to implement fixes directly within cloud environments
- Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code
- Strong understanding of cloud vulnerabilities and misconfiguration management
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
