Job Description

Principal Engineer – Edge Compute & Computer Vision

We are hiring a Principal Engineer – Edge Compute & Computer Vision to join our client's team in Galway, Ireland (hybrid, minimum 3 days onsite). This is a full-time role, with relocation support available for exceptional candidates.

We build real-time AI systems that operate in high-throughput, live environments where latency, reliability, and performance are critical. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role, you will write production C++ daily, shape architecture, and solve complex mathematical and performance challenges. This is not a managerial role; you’ll stay close to the code while setting technical direction.

What You’ll Do

  • Design multi-camera geometry, calibration, and synchronisation systems
  • Build probabilistic multi-object tracking and spatiotemporal reasoning models
  • Develop highly optimised C++ in real-time, resource-constrained environments
  • Optimise GPU-accelerated inference pipelines for low latency and high throughput
  • Take models from research to hardened, production-grade edge deployments
  • Define testing, validation, telemetry, and rollout strategies
  • Set technical standards and mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years in computer vision, robotics, embedded systems, or similar
  • Strong C++ in performance-critical systems
  • Deep understanding of geometry, linear algebra, optimisation, and estimation
  • Experience with GPU optimisation and production AI deployment
  • Proven track record shipping real-world vision systems

If you thrive on mathematically rigorous, performance-critical engineering and want to build AI that performs under real-world pressure, we’d love to hear from you.
