Business Analyst/Solution Designer for Regulatory Reporting

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Solution Designer to join the Asset Based Finance IT department within the Scrum team responsible for Regulatory Reporting in the Commercial Finance domain.

The team develops and maintains software solutions that support compliant, accurate, auditable, and sustainable regulatory data disclosures. In this role, you will act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data domain owners, and software engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of regulatory reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong financial domain expertise, deep understanding of regulatory reporting frameworks, solid data analysis capabilities, and experience translating complex business requirements into scalable IT and reporting solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Analyse business and regulatory reporting requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and sustainable IT solutions.
• Create detailed functional and solution designs that are clear, structured, and ready for development teams to implement.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, data domain owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical implementation.
• Assess the impact of regulatory changes on systems, reporting processes, and data structures.
• Ensure all solutions support compliant, accurate, traceable, and auditable regulatory reporting outcomes.

Regulatory Reporting & Financial Data

• Support regulatory reporting processes within the Commercial Finance and Asset Based Finance domains.
• Apply knowledge of Basel frameworks, accounting principles, financial risk concepts, and banking data structures to solution design and analysis activities.
• Validate financial and regulatory reporting data to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
• Support reconciliation and reporting validation activities using SQL and Excel.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Participation

• Work actively within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Define and manage Azure DevOps Boards work items including:

• Epics
• Features
• User Stories
• Acceptance Criteria
• Participate in:
• Backlog refinement
• Sprint planning
• Daily stand-ups
• Sprint reviews
• Retrospectives
• Collaborate with developers and testers to ensure successful implementation and delivery of solutions.
• Support software testing, validation, and defect resolution activities.
• Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyse complex financial datasets and reporting structures.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis.
• Work with structured data formats including XML, XSD, and CSV.
• Develop and execute SQL queries to support data analysis, testing, and reporting activities.
• Utilize advanced Excel capabilities for reconciliations, validations, and reporting analysis.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
