We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant / Penetration Tester to join a large-scale long-term cybersecurity transformation initiative. This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting enterprise security operations, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and infrastructure security modernization efforts across multiple environments.

This role is ideal for a hands-on cybersecurity professional with strong offensive security expertise and experience assessing, securing, and improving enterprise IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess existing cybersecurity programs, policies, and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and threat analysis across enterprise IT networks and infrastructure
• Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation validation using tools such as Nessus, Qualys, and Tenable
• Execute penetration testing activities across:
• Web applications
• Internal and external infrastructure
• Wireless environments

• Social engineering exercises
• Identify security gaps and provide actionable remediation recommendations
• Support the implementation of cybersecurity initiatives and infrastructure hardening efforts
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve overall security posture
• Produce detailed technical assessment reports and executive-level findings
• Provide ongoing updates and communication to technical and business teams

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience
• Strong hands-on penetration testing and vulnerability assessment experience
• Experience working with enterprise firewalls including Fortinet and Cisco
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as:
• Nessus, Qualys, Tenable, SIEM/SOAR platforms, Cobalt Strike
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards including: NIST 800-53, MITRE ATT&CK
• Experience conducting security assessments and developing remediation strategies

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, GIAC, and Security+ are highly preferred
• Experience supporting large enterprise or multi-department environments
• Background in red team, offensive security, or security consulting environments
