About the Role
As a driven People & Culture Generalist, this role will support the entire employee lifecycle – from hire to retire -- for our fully remote workforce. You’ll partner with our managers and employees to deliver high-quality People Operations where this position supports benefits administration, compliance, learning, payroll, and talent acquisition. Key characteristics they might include. This position reports directly to Director, People & Culture.
Responsibilities
- Serve as first point of contact for People inquiries; escalate complex employee concerns as needed.
- Administer on-boarding, off-boarding, and employee changes utilizing our HRIS.
- Process a bimonthly payroll with timely and accurate data changes, processing, etc.
- Assist with related reporting and audits (in partnership with Finance) as needed.
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and leave of absence monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Oversight of all electronic employee records, requests, and files.
- Gain experience in performance review cycles, goal setting & tracking, etc.
- Support recruiting activities: job postings, screening, interviews, and background checks.
- Assist with employee relations by documenting concerns and supporting investigations.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics; recommend process improvements
- Contribute to People programs (compensation cycles, policy updates, engagement initiatives, training and development).
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Required Education / Experience / Skills
- At least a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field required.
- At least 2-3 years of progressive HR experience as a specialist or HR operations role.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
- At least 1-2 years of experience with HRIS (e.g., ADP, Paycor, Paylocity, or similar).
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidential data and details at all times.
- Above average and confidential communication skills, professionalism always, discretion is a must, and exceeding customer (employee) expectations mindset.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, self-motivated, fully remote work environment

Preferred Education / Experience
- Some experience supporting multi-state remote teams.
- Some exposure to payroll processes, benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, etc.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required.
Compensation and benefits
$60-65k annually; bonus potential 5% of annual base
