Job Description

We are seeking a Product Manager to support and evolve digital capabilities within a mid-size independent aviation MRO and parts organization. This role sits at the intersection of product line, sales, and operations partnering closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-centric solutions. The ideal candidate is a systems-oriented product manager who thrives in a complex cross-business environment. The candidate should also be able to independently prioritize competing demands and be comfortable working with executive leadership, end-users, and cross-functional teams. Rather than owning a specific product, this role focuses on enabling internal business outcomes across multiple platforms.

This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, IL, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart (Chicago) in early 2027.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Own and evolve the product roadmap supporting sales and product line/OEM management teams to ensure near- and longer-term scalability and impact.
  • Translate business objectives into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs.
  • Partner with development/engineering to define requirements, sequencing, and tradeoffs to ensure delivery aligns with business value and technical constraints.
  • Act as the primary product owner of multiple products, providing clear direction and acceptance criteria.
  • Serve as a connective layer between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure end-to-end workflow alignment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify friction, rework, or manual steps in current processes and drive iterative improvements.
  • Ensure solutions support regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements common in the aviation parts supply market.
  • Facilitate effective planning rituals including roadmap reviews, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
  • Develop clear business cases and measurable success metrics to support prioritization decisions and leadership visibility.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leaders on priorities risks, dependencies, and progress, escalating when needed and proposing actionable alternatives as problems arise.
  • Develop documentation, create training materials, and support change management efforts to ensure adoption by sales and product line owners.
  • Define track and report KPI-based success criteria, including return on investment, for new features to ensure value is sustained and increases over time.

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in product management, business systems, or related roles supporting commercial or operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple stakeholder groups in a B2B environment.
  • Experience supporting legacy ERPs or revenue generating systems is strongly preferred.
  • Aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, distribution, or MRO experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong ability to break down ambiguous problems and drive execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and imperfect information.
  • Data-informed decisionmaker with a bias toward action and incremental improvement.
  • Clear and concise communicator who can tailor messages for executives, technical teams, and end-user groups.
  • Proven ability to self-direct, anticipate dependencies, and proactively manage risks.

The rewards of your career at AAR go far beyond just your salary.

  • Competitive bonus package
