Senior QA Engineer – Contract
£430/day (Inside IR35) | Remote | Active SC Clearance Essential | ASAP Start
A leading public sector organisation is seeking a Senior QA Engineer / SDET to join a high-performing delivery team working on large-scale digital transformation programmes.
This role is heavily focused on automation engineering, with an emphasis on building robust testing pipelines and supporting complex integration and migration activities across modern and legacy systems.
SOW & Deliverables
- Design, build, and maintain automation testing pipelines
- Deliver both functional and non-functional automated testing
- Support testing across complex integrations and cross-system state changes
- Contribute within TDD and BDD delivery environments
- Perform contract testing using Pact
- Deliver integration testing using automated Kotlin-based tests
- Conduct UI component and end-to-end testing using Playwright or Cypress with TypeScript
- Support performance testing across UI and APIs (ideally using Gatling)
- Contribute to testing strategy and quality engineering best practices
- Support testing activities linked to data migration programmes

Key Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior QA Engineer / SDET with coding capability
- Highly skilled in test automation and automation pipeline creation
- Experience with:
- Pact (contract testing)
- Kotlin automated integration testing
- Playwright or Cypress with TypeScript
- Performance testing tools (ideally Gatling)
- Comfortable working within TDD and BDD environments
- Strong understanding of integrations, APIs, and complex system interactions
- Experience contributing to test strategy and quality assurance planning
- Data migration testing experience desirable
