Title: Chief Marketing Officer - Professional Services


The Role

A client in the professional services sector is seeking an Interim Chief Marketing Officer to join the team for an initial interim period.


You will lead the marketing function through a critical period of transformation, rapidly assessing current performance and focusing efforts on the highest-impact commercial activities. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the objective is to reposition the organisation’s offering, strengthen B2B demand generation, and support a broader commercial shift toward higher-growth propositions.

Responsibilities

  • Reposition the brand and messaging to align with the organisation’s evolving strategic focus
  • Evaluate current marketing activity and prioritise initiatives that drive the greatest commercial value
  • Lead and develop the marketing team, providing clear direction and stability during a period of change
  • Strengthen B2B demand generation capability, driving measurable pipeline growth in partnership with sales teams
  • Improve conversion across the customer and learner acquisition funnel through a more digital-first approach
  • Develop compelling employer-facing narratives, including case studies, ROI evidence, and impact storytelling
  • Enhance product marketing to clearly differentiate offerings in a competitive market
  • Build strong alignment with commercial leadership, ensuring marketing is accountable to revenue outcomes
  • Provide an honest assessment of team capability, structure, and performance, identifying areas for improvement


Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a marketing function within a B2B services, consulting, advisory, or professional services environment
  • Strong commercial orientation, with experience working against pipeline, conversion, and revenue metrics
  • Ability to rapidly assess performance and take decisive action in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience marketing complex, intangible propositions to senior enterprise stakeholders
  • Credibility operating as a peer to senior sales and commercial leaders
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate teams through transition
  • Highly independent, with sound judgement and proactive communication style
  • Experience in high-growth or transformation environments is advantageous
  • Experience operating in B2B2C models is a plus
