Job Description
About Huskycare
Care is relationship work. Caregivers do one of the most important jobs in our society โ and today they spend far too much of it on paperwork, sprawling Excel sheets and software that doesn't understand their daily reality. At Huskycare, we build care software designed to change that: for outpatient care services and day care facilities that need scheduling, route planning, care documentation, service tracking and billing in a single system that genuinely understands the industry. What drives us: less bureaucracy, more time for the people who matter. We're a growing, fully remote team with colleagues spread across Germany and Bulgaria, working every day with caregivers, care providers and operators โ and we see the difference good software makes in an industry that has had to live with bad software for far too long.
Location: Remote in Germany or Bulgaria ยท Employment: Full-time, permanent ยท Start: as soon as possible
What this role is about
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you'll join our platform team and work โ under the guidance of experienced colleagues โ on the infrastructure that hundreds of care services rely on every single day. We are explicitly not looking for a fully-trained senior in junior clothing. We're looking for someone who wants to learn, writes their own code, and grows step by step from small, clearly scoped tickets to bigger responsibility. In the care domain, shift changes are real load spikes, and an outage means someone can't start their care route. That makes the work meaningful โ and an environment in which you'll learn very quickly what reliability really means.
Your responsibilities
- You contribute to our Kubernetes clusters on Scaleway Kapsule under mentorship โ from smaller configuration tweaks to your own tickets that you implement and put through review.
- You write your own Pulumi (Go) contributions for clearly scoped tasks โ e.g. a new secret, an additional database, an adjusted cluster resource โ and build up your understanding of our infrastructure as you go.
- You work your way step by step into our CI/CD pipeline (Merge Request โ main โ automatic deploy to dev), take on your own pipeline improvements and learn how we release to prod.
- You help expand our observability (logging, metrics, alerting) and develop a parallel sense of what counts as "normal" vs. "problem" in the care domain.
- You join on-call rotations together with experienced colleagues and learn how we handle incidents in a structured way โ without heroics โ before eventually leading them yourself.
- You collaborate closely with the backend, frontend and mobile teams, ask questions actively and build a broad understanding of our stack.

Your profile
- You can write code yourself โ at least one programming or scripting language (Go, Python, Bash, TypeScript or similar) sits well enough that you can implement small solutions on your own, not just stitch snippets together.
- You have first hands-on exposure to Linux, containers and ideally Kubernetes โ from your studies, training, internship, working-student role or your own projects.
- You understand CI/CD concepts at a fundamentals level (pipelines, branching, automated deployments) and want to dive deeper there.
- You actively want to learn โ in a structured way, with questions, with code reviews โ instead of guessing in silence.
- Excellent English in writing and speech โ the team language in code, docs and with international colleagues is English.
- You understand that our software is used in everyday care, and you handle the responsibility that comes with that with care.
Nice to have, but not required
- First experience with Pulumi, Terraform or another IaC tool.
- Junior-level familiarity with Scaleway, AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Experience with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or comparable pipelines.
- A working understanding of OIDC/OAuth2 (e.g. from tinkering with Keycloak).
- Exposure to observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry).
- Pet projects, a home lab, open source contributions โ anything that shows you voluntarily dive into these topics.
- German language skills โ helpful for internal calls and a deeper understanding of our care end users, but not required.

What we offer
- Meaningful work in an industry that genuinely needs digital help โ you'll see directly whose life you're making easier.
- A real junior role: dedicated mentoring from experienced colleagues, clear onboarding, pair-programming sessions and a budget for professional development (conferences, certifications, books).
- Fully remote in Germany or Bulgaria, with clear structures for remote collaboration (async-first, shared core hours, regular team off-sites).
- A modern tech stack without legacy ballast: Kubernetes, Pulumi (Go), GraphQL, Spring Boot, Angular 21.
- A direct line to the leadership team, short paths and plenty of room to shape things.
- A permanent contract from day one.
