Job Description

Fanwave Digital is a global sports betting media network with brands in the UK, US and Brazil.

Our job is to help bettors make smarter decisions. We publish expert betting tips, build data tools, and create fun predictor games for our audience across all our markets.

We want our brands to be the first place bettors go when they want a view on what to back, or the data to build their own bet.

Organic search is a huge part of how we grow, and the landscape is changing faster than it has in years. Google keeps moving the goalposts, and LLMs are starting to take a real share of search traffic.

We're looking for a Senior SEO Manager to lead our day to day SEO work across our brands, ship the changes that move the numbers, and help us figure out how to win as AI reshapes search.

What you'll do:

  • Run day to day SEO across our UK brands, Andy's Bet Club and Bad Man Betting. You'll be the person making sure the work is happening, the priorities are right, and the numbers are moving, working closely with the social media managers and editorial leads.

  • Own commercial SEO. Free bets pages, bookmaker reviews and offer comparisons are some of our highest-value real estate. Your job is to rank them for the keywords that matter and build pages that convert clicks into bookmaker registrations.

  • Own editorial SEO. Work with the content teams on previews, guides and explainers to make sure what we publish is built to rank, structured well, and serving the search intent they're targeting.

  • Lead our off-site growth strategy. Backlinks are still one of the biggest levers for ranking and for getting cited inside LLMs, and we want creative ways to earn quality ones at scale.

  • Lead on AI search visibility. We want to understand how our content surfaces inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI overviews, run experiments to improve it, and build a point of view on how we win as the space evolves.

  • Own the technical SEO backlog. You'll work directly with our engineering and product teams to spot issues, brief in fixes, and make sure technical health stays strong as we ship new features.

  • Build and own the reporting. Set up dashboards that track what matters across both brands, run a regular reporting cadence with leadership, and flag the wins and the problems early.

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years in SEO with at least some of it in an affiliate marketing environment.

  • A big football fan. Even better if you're a sports bettor yourself, because understanding the audience makes the strategy sharper.

  • Strong on the fundamentals. Keyword research, on-page optimisation, internal linking, technical audits, schema. You should be able to do this work yourself when needed, not just brief someone else to do it.

  • A track record ranking for high-value keywords and then improving how those pages convert.

  • Comfortable with technical SEO. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be able to read a crawl report, understand what's wrong, and write a clear brief that an engineer can act on.

  • Creative and strategic on backlinks. You can build them at scale, you have ideas beyond the standard digital PR playbook, and you know how to make sure the ones you earn actually move the needle.

  • A real interest in AI search. Not just an awareness that it exists, but actual testing, opinions on what's working, and a desire to turn that into real visibility for our brands.

  • You're comfortable in GSC and Semrush for search data, and ideally Mixpanel for product analytics. You can build a story out of data without needing someone else to interpret it for you.

  • Good writer. You'll be producing briefs, plans and recommendations, and writing on-page SEO copy yourself when it needs doing.

  • Self-starter. We're a small team and you'll have a lot of latitude. People who need someone telling them what to do every day tend not to thrive here.

  • Finally, and arguably most importantly, you share our values: high standards in your work, curiosity and innovation in how you grow what you own, and the ability to move fast when it's needed.

The package:

  • Salary: £60k to £70k depending on experience.

  • Performance bonus tied to commercial results from SEO (registrations, revenue) and to overall organic visibility growth.

  • Fully remote and flexible. Work from wherever suits you in the UK, with a generous home setup budget or the option to expense a coworking desk near you.

  • Private healthcare with Bupa, covering physical and mental health.

  • £1,500 annual learning budget for courses, conferences, certifications and professional development.

  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

  • Regular team meetups. Annual summer and Christmas parties, plus company trips. How do the York Races in August sound?

  • Birthday takeaway on us, plus a Perkbox subscription for gym, cinema and dining discounts.
