Our client is building AI agents that automate operational workflows for healthcare providers and specialty clinics. Their platform integrates directly into how clinics already operate and deploys customized AI solutions across scheduling, intake, prior authorization, workflow automation, and operational coordination.

They are looking for highly technical, high-agency engineers who thrive in ambiguous environments, enjoy working directly with customers, and can debug production systems under pressure.

This is not a traditional backend engineering role. You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, deployment, product execution, and customer success.

What You’ll Do

• Own customer deployments from onboarding through production rollout
• Work directly with clinics to understand workflows and identify automation opportunities
• Customize and ship production-grade solutions quickly
• Debug live production issues in real time during customer interactions
• Build and improve integrations, workflow automations, and AI-driven operational tooling
• Partner closely with founders and operate with significant ownership and autonomy

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• Strong Python engineering skills
• Experience shipping production-ready software
• Ability to debug production systems under pressure
• Excellent communication and customer-facing ability
• High agency and strong ownership mindset
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity
• Strong engineering fundamentals from a top-tier program or equivalent experience
• Willing to work in-person in San Francisco

Strong Plus

• Prior Forward Deployed Engineer or implementation-heavy experience
• Startup founder or founding engineer background
• Healthcare / healthtech experience
• Experience with integrations, automation, OCR, voice AI, or AI agents
• Strong cloud infrastructure understanding
• Evidence of leadership, communication, debate, research presentation, or community involvement outside pure engineering
