Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale enterprise database environments. The role involves database engineering, administration, upgrades, migrations, and supporting critical production and project environments.

You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical database solutions while ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Database Administration & Engineering

• Manage and support large Oracle database environments
• Handle end-to-end database engineering and administration activities
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input
• Work on project planning, timelines, deliverables, and milestones

2. Database Lifecycle Management

• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and version management

• Upgrade and migrate databases and underlying platforms to higher versions
• Perform database refresh activities (e.g., production to test environments)
• Copy schemas between databases as required
• Manage release-wise development and updates of existing databases

3. Backup, Recovery & Cloning

• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump
• Perform database cloning and environment replication
• Ensure data integrity and recovery readiness

4. High Availability & Performance

• Work with Oracle Data Guard configurations
• Set up and manage Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters)
• Support virtualized database environments
• Monitor and optimize database performance

5. Change & Release Management

• Create, review, and approve changes following ITIL processes
• Provide change implementation and support
• Work as part of a cross-functional team for production changes

6. Stakeholder & Project Collaboration

• Act as a technical interface between project managers and clients
• Translate business requirements into technical database solutions
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and executives

7. Documentation & Governance

• Create and maintain technical design and implementation documents
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as Oracle DBA
• Strong experience with Oracle Database (12c and above)
• Expertise in:

RMAN backup & recovery

Data Pump utilities

Database cloning and refresh operations

Patch management and upgrades

Oracle Data Guard

Oracle RAC environments

• Experience in large enterprise database environments
• Strong understanding of ITIL-based change management processes
