Azure Data Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure data services, data transformation, and cloud-based analytics solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting, transforming, and processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Transform and cleanse raw data to support analytics and reporting requirements while ensuring high data quality and optimized query performance.

• Work with big data processing frameworks such as PySpark for large-scale data transformation and analytics.
• Develop and manage solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.
• Implement data integration, orchestration, and automation workflows across multiple data sources.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Optimize data storage, processing performance, and cost efficiency in Azure environments.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing data engineering solutions and workflows.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong experience in Azure Data Engineering and cloud-based data solutions.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with PySpark for data transformation and processing.
• Good understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT concepts, and big data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of data quality, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
