European Sovereign Cloud Operations and Development Team Lead

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Be at the forefront of building and leading operations and development teams for the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC).

• Play a pivotal role in delivering high-availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers.

• Oversee the launch of the ESC, collaborate closely with global AWS teams, and influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.

• Contribute to the enhancement of day-to-day operations, focusing on availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

• Engage with customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services within the AWS Utility Computing (UC) framework.

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents occurring outside of standard working hours.

What You'll Need

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

• Must be a national of an EU member state and residing in the EU.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related IT discipline) or equivalent industry experience.

• Knowledge or experience in scripting (Bash, Python, or Ruby) or software development (Java, TypeScript, or similar).

• Solid understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals.

• Experience operating 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CDK, CloudFormation) is a plus.
