Payroll Operations Manager - Direct Hire, Full-Time Employee

Seattle, WA - hybrid work schedule (on-site 3 days per week, 2 days remote per week)

Lead a team of 8 payroll specialist and optimize multi‑state payroll operations for union and non‑union employees. This role focuses on improving accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while developing a high‑performing payroll team and partnering across the business.


What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of multi‑state payroll experience (union experience preferred)
  • 2+ years of people leadership
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and multi‑state payroll regulations
  • Experience with CBAs and union payroll rules strongly preferred
  • Experience processing payroll for 1K plus employees
  • Proficiency with major HCM/ERP systems (Workday, ADP, UKG, Oracle, Microsoft 365)
