Automation Test Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 8-10 years.

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for a skilled Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript to design and implement robust test automation solutions for desktop applications. The role involves building scalable frameworks, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Test Design & Automation Development

• Analyze functional and technical requirements to design automation solutions
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using UFT and VBScript
• Build modular, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks

2. Test Execution & Defect Management

• Execute automated test suites and analyze results
• Log defects and track them through resolution

• Ensure proper test coverage across application modules

3. CI/CD Integration

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Work with tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git

4. Collaboration & Test Planning

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, SMEs, and Manual QA teams
• Participate in test planning, test strategy, and code reviews
• Ensure alignment on test coverage and quality expectations

5. Test Data & Validation

• Use SQL for test data validation
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of test datasets

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing)
• Proficiency in VBScript and automation scripting concepts
• Experience in desktop application testing
• Strong understanding of automation frameworks
• Experience with test management tools (ALM, Jira)
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps)

Preferred Skills

• Experience in API testing (Postman, SOAP UI)
• Domain knowledge in BFSI (Banking & Financial Services)
• Experience with banking applications such as:
• Loan Origination Systems (LOS)
• Underwriting systems
