Job Description: Lead Engineer – Quality Assurance

Location: Abu Dhabi

Nationalities who can apply - Europeans, Americans, British, Australians, Emiratis, Mexican and Canadians. (Flights and Visa taken care by the company in case of relocation and 2-3 weeks of hotel stay.)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a results-driven Lead Engineer – Quality Assurance who is passionate about delivering quality at scale. In this role, you will lead the QA function across high-impact AI and data analytics platforms, ensuring robust quality assurance processes, developing scalable test strategies, and mentoring QA engineers. You will play a critical role in driving engineering excellence and quality culture across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

• Define and drive the overall QA strategy, standards, and best practices across the engineering teams.
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance feedback.
• Act as the quality owner for one or more products or programs, working closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams.
• Identify quality goals and KPIs and establish automated reporting mechanisms to track progress.
• Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into test plans and quality checkpoints.

Functional & Technical

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of end-to-end testing strategies (functional, non-functional, performance, regression, and UAT).
• Review technical specifications and product requirements and work with developers to ensure testability and stability of code.
• Own and continuously improve automated testing frameworks, CI/CD integrations, and test coverage metrics.
• Perform complex test design, data quality validation, and environment management for scalable data and AI-based platforms.
• Ensure security testing and compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Investigate and triage defects, analyze root causes, and work closely with engineering to drive timely resolutions.
• Collaborate on incident root cause analysis and recommend preventive quality measures.

Process & Documentation

• Define and maintain QA processes aligned with Agile/DevOps practices, ensuring continuous delivery with high quality.
• Create detailed test reports, dashboards, bug reports, and test documentation for stakeholders.
• Promote a shift-left approach to quality by embedding testing early in the development cycle.
• Ensure clear documentation of test cases, plans, scripts, and knowledge base articles.

• Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management and Governance of Organizations policies, procedures, plans and related risk assessments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Proven experience in end-to-end testing of large-scale web, cloud, and data-driven applications.
• Strong proficiency in tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, Robot Framework, SoapUI.
• Familiarity with test management platforms like JIRA, TestRail, Confluence, HP QC/ALM.
• Hands-on knowledge of scripting/programming (Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar).
• Experience with big data/AI platforms, including data quality checks, ETL validation, Spark, ElasticSearch, SQL.
• Good understanding of tech-ops environments (Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Platforms, Linux/Shell scripting).
• Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices with experience in fast-paced product environments.
